How To Manage Drivers In Carrier TMS

This article explains how to invite, add, remove & edit drivers on your Carrier TMS account

Introduction

In this guide, we’ll walk you through the detailed steps to effectively manage drivers within Carrier TMS. From adding new drivers to assigning loads and tracking their progress, we’ll cover everything you need to streamline driver management, improve communication, and ensure smooth operations across your fleet.


Adding Drivers

In this section we will go over how to add a driver in Carrier TMS. Check out the guide below:

Step 1: Log Into Your Carrier TMS Account

  • Log into your Carrier TMS account.

Step 2: Access the Driver Tab

  • Click the Driver tab.

Step 3: Invite

  • Click Invite Driver

Step 4: Enter Information

  • Enter the driver’s information.

Step 5: Save

  • Click Save

Step 6: Driver Sign-Up

  • The driver will receive an SMS message with a link to sign up.

Step 7: Added Successfully

  • The Drivers Information appears


Deactivating & Reactivating

In this section we will go over how you can assign Loads to the drivers in Carrier TMS. Check out the guide below:

Step 1: Deactivate a Driver

  • Click the three dots in the upper right corner.

  • Select Deactivate.

Note: Deactivating a driver may affect assigned loads, moving them back to the New section. Be sure to review any changes this may cause to your Carrier TMS pricing plan.

Step 2: Reactivate a Driver

  • Follow the same steps.

  • Select Reactivate.


Assigning Loads

In this section we will go over how you can assign Loads to the drivers in Carrier TMS. Check out the guide below:

Step 1: AssignLoads to Drivers

  • Go to the Loads tab.

  • Click on the New section.

  • Click Assign.

  • Select the driver.

Step 2: Reassign Loads To Driver

  • Click Assigned/Or, anything other than New

  • Click Reassign


Track Activity

In this section we will go over how you can track the drivers location inside of Carrier TMS. Additionally, this will also allow Shippers to track their location via the Online BOL as well. Check out the guide below:

Step 1: Tracking

  • Click Tracking

Step 2: Adding

  • Click add driver

Step 3: Select

  • Select Driver

Note: If their mobile device is not set up, you’ll see a notification. Once set up, you can track their latest activity.


Manage Permissions

Step 1: Manage Driver Permissions

  • Click the profile icon.

  • select Settings.

  • Click Driver App.

  • Enable Fleet Mode
