How to Complete an AIAG Inspection

Unfamiliar with an AIAG Inspection and don't know how to complete one? This article will show you how.

Introduction

The AIAG (Automotive Industry Action Group) inspection applies to new vehicles and follows a specific set of guidelines unique to this type of inspection. Designed for the auto industry, this process uses a standardized “code” system to document any damages. Follow this guide to learn how to complete an AIAG Inspection using the Super Dispatch mobile app.

Step-by-Step: Completing an AIAG Inspection

Below, we will walk you through how to complete an AIAG inspection inside of Super Dispatch:

Step 1: Start the Inspection

  1. Open the order in the Super Dispatch Driver App.

  2. Select the vehicle you wish to inspect and tap Start Inspection.

  3. The inspection page will display the vehicle’s Year, Make, Model, and VIN at the top.

Step 2: Inspect the Vehicle

If the vehicle has no damage:

  • Skip marking damages and proceed directly to the signature section.

If the vehicle has damage:

  • Tap Add Pickup Damage at the bottom of the inspection screen.

Step 3: Enter the Damage Code

You’ll be prompted to input a 5-digit AIAG inspection code. This code consists of:

Damage Area

  • Tap Select Damage Area and choose the area from the list.

Example: For windshield damage, select 20 Windshield.

Damage Type

  • Select the appropriate damage type from the list.

Example: For a cracked windshield, select 06 Cracked.

Damage Severity

  • Indicate the severity of the damage.

Example: For a crack over 12 inches, select 5 Over 12’’ 30 Cm & Over.

Photos

  • Take at least two photos of the damage for documentation.

Tap Save to record the damage.


Step 4: Add Additional Damages (If Necessary)

For multiple damages, repeat the process:

  1. Select Add Pickup Damage.

  2. Input the appropriate damage codes and take photos for each damage.

Example: For a cracked sunroof, choose 53 Sunroof for the Damage Area.

Once all damages are recorded, the inspection screen will display a summary of the logged damages.


Step 5: Finalize the Inspection

  1. Tap Finish Pickup Inspection to complete the damage documentation.

  2. Proceed to the signature screen to collect the required signature.
