Introduction
Super Dispatch uses an allocation system to track posted and delivered vehicles within a billing cycle. This system helps shippers manage their load postings efficiently while staying within their subscription limits. However, there can be some confusion about how vehicles are counted towards these limits. This guide clarifies what qualifies as a posted vehicle, what counts as a delivered vehicle, and how reposting, deletions, and delivery date adjustments affect these numbers.
How Vehicle Posting and Delivery Limits Work
Each Super Dispatch subscription plan includes an allotment of vehicles that can be posted and delivered during a billing cycle.
- Posted Vehicles: The total number of unique vehicles posted to the Loadboard within a billing cycle.
- Delivered Vehicles: The total number of unique vehicles that have been successfully delivered within a billing cycle.
For example, in a 100/150 plan, a shipper can deliver up to 100 vehicles and post up to 150 vehicles during the billing period.
Key Rules:
A single vehicle counts toward both limits
- If a vehicle is posted and later delivered, it will count toward both the Posted Vehicles and Delivered Vehicles limits.
- Example: If you post 100 unique vehicles and all 100 are delivered, you will have reached your 100-vehicle delivery limit, but you will still have 50 remaining posting slots (assuming a 100/150 plan).
Reposting a vehicle within the same billing cycle does not count toward the posted limit
- If a vehicle is removed and reposted within the same billing month, it will not count again toward the posted vehicle limit.
- If the same vehicle is reposted in a different billing month, it will count as a new post.
- Example: If you post a vehicle in February and then repost it in March, it will count as two separate postings.
Vehicles posted under different orders will count separately
- If a vehicle is included in multiple separate orders, each order’s posting will count toward the posted limit.
- Example: If Vehicle A is posted under Order 1 and then later posted again under Order 2, it will be counted twicetoward the posted vehicle limit.
Deleted vehicles and orders still count toward the limits
- If an order or vehicle is deleted after being posted or delivered, it will still be included in the total for that billing period.
- This means that delivered vehicle totals in reports may differ from what appears in the system if vehicles were deleted after delivery.
Time zone differences in billing calculations
- Billing months are calculated using US Central Time (CST/CDT).
- If a shipper operates in a different time zone, delivered vehicle totals may differ slightly from their local reporting due to time zone discrepancies.
Delivered vehicle dates are based on when the vehicle was marked as delivered
- Billing reports track the date when a vehicle was marked as delivered in Super Dispatch.
- If a shipper later adjusts the delivery date, this does NOT change the billing calculation.
- This can cause discrepancies between Super Dispatch billing reports and other Shipper TMS reports.
Common Questions
Q: If a vehicle is delivered, does it also count as posted?
A: Yes, if a vehicle has been posted and later delivered, it will count toward both the Posted Vehicles and Delivered Vehicles limits.
Q: What happens if I repost a vehicle?
A:
- If you repost the same vehicle within the same billing cycle, it does not count again toward your posted limit.
- If you repost it in a different billing cycle, it will count as a new post.
Q: If I delete an order or a vehicle, will it still count toward my limit?
A: Yes, vehicles that were previously posted or delivered will still count toward your limits, even if they were later deleted.
Q: Why is the posted vehicle limit higher than the delivered vehicle limit?
A: The posted limit is set to 1.5x the delivered limit to account for normal reposting needs and the fact that not all posted vehicles will ultimately be delivered.
Q: Why do my delivered vehicle totals look different in reports?
A:
- Delivered vehicle totals may vary in different parts of the system due to deleted vehicles and time zone differences in billing calculations (which use US Central Time).
- Billing reports track the date when a vehicle was marked delivered, so if a shipper later changes the delivery date, it will not be reflected in billing reports.
