Introduction
If you drive for more than one carrier, the Driver App lets you switch between carrier accounts so you're always working on the right loads for the right company. Switching carriers changes what you see in the app, including your assigned loads and notifications.
How to Switch Between Carriers
Step 1: Open the Carrier List
- Open the Driver App and log in if you aren't already.
- Tap the carrier name in the upper-left corner of the screen.
Step 2: Select a Carrier
- Tap the carrier you want to switch to. The app reloads and shows that carrier's loads and information.
How to Request to Join a Carrier
Step 1: Search for the Carrier
- Open the carrier list and tap Join Carrier.
- Enter the carrier's USDOT number and tap Verify.
Step 2: Send the Request
- Review the carrier's details and tap Request to Join Carrier.
- A Waiting for Confirmation message lets you know the request was sent. Tap Got It.
Step 3: Wait for Approval
- The carrier shows a Requested label in your carrier list until they approve you.
- If you open the carrier before then, you'll see Waiting for Confirmation. You can tap Cancel Request if you change your mind.
- When the carrier approves your request, you'll get a push notification.
How to Accept an Invitation From a Carrier
Carriers can also invite you to join them. You'll get a push notification when a carrier invites you.
- Open the carrier list. Invitations appear at the top with an Invited label.
- Tap the invitation, then tap Accept. You can also tap Decline.
- Once you accept, the app switches to that carrier automatically.
If a Carrier Shows "Temporarily Locked"
If a carrier you drive for is suspended, it stays in your carrier list with a lock icon and a Temporarily Locked label. You stay connected to that carrier. A carrier can be locked for security reasons or suspected fraud, or because the carrier locked its own account from an email alert.
What Happens While a Carrier Is Locked
- You get a push notification. Tap it to open the app on that carrier.
- Opening the carrier shows the Temporarily Locked screen.
- Loads and all carrier actions are unavailable for that carrier.
- You can't leave the carrier, create a practice load, or view the carrier's profile.
- You can still switch to your other carriers and use them as usual.
When the Carrier Is Unlocked
Your access comes back automatically, right where you left off. You won't get a notification when this happens.
Joining a Locked Carrier
You can't join a locked carrier. If you search by USDOT number, send a join request, accept an invitation, or sign up with a locked carrier, you'll see an error saying the carrier is locked.
If you have questions about why a carrier is locked, contact that carrier directly.
Things to Keep in Mind
- Load access: You only see loads assigned by the carrier you're currently on.
- Notifications: Keep notifications turned on so you don't miss updates after switching.
- Missing carrier: If a carrier isn't in your list, they may need to add you as a driver first.
- Driver verification: Some carriers require extra verification before you can accept or complete their loads.
