Introduction
The Trips feature in Carrier TMS helps dispatchers manage and organize multi-load routes with ease. With updated filters, detailed trip views, and flexible status management, dispatchers can now streamline operations more effectively than ever. This article will walk you through the new layout and functionality of the Trips page.
Trip Page Overview
The Trips page now uses a grid layout that displays sortable columns to help you organize trip information clearly and efficiently. You can sort by:
- Trip Name
- Trip Status
- Driver
- Dispatcher
- Start
- End
- Price
- Payment Status
- Modified Date
Filtering Options
Use the filters at the top of the Trips page to quickly find specific trips. Available filters include:
- Search by trip name
- Driver — search and select specific drivers
- Dispatcher — filter by trip creator
- Trip Status — select multiple statuses
- Payment Status — filter by customer or driver payment info
Viewing Trip Details
Click on a trip from the grid to open the Trip Details view. This view includes:
- Trip Name
- Attachments
- Internal Notes
- Map of the Route
- Assigned Driver — click the pencil icon to assign or reassign, or if a driver is not assigned please click the blue assign driver button to assign them.
Managing Trips
Trip Statuses
- Planning: The trip is not assigned to a driver.
- Ready: Trip is assigned to a driver, but all loads are in “New” status.
- In Progress: At least one load is in “Picked Up” or “Delivered” status, but not all loads are delivered.
- All Delivered: All loads in the trip have been marked delivered.
- Completed: Manually marked as complete.
Note: Once a trip has been completed a blue Archive button will be in the upper
right hand corner of the "View Trip Details Screen."![]()
Available Actions
Click the three-dot menu in the upper-right corner of the Trip Details page to manage the trip:
- Reassign Driver
- Unassign Driver
- Mark as Completed
- Mark as Billed
- Mark as Paid by Customer
- Mark as Driver Paid
- Archive Trip
- Delete Trip — Warning: Deleting a trip is permanent and cannot be undone.
