Introduction
Keeping your phone number up to date with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) is important for compliance, audits, and time-sensitive communication. Your phone number is part of your USDOT registration and must be updated directly through FMCSA systems.
This guide walks you through how to update your phone number using the FMCSA SAFER system and the MCS-150 form.
How to Update Your Phone Number with FMCSA
Follow the steps below to submit an updated MCS-150 form and update your phone number.
Step 1: Open the FMCSA SAFER Website
Go to the FMCSA SAFER Company Snapshot page.
Step 2: Search for Your USDOT or MC Number
Enter your company’s USDOT number or MC number in the search field.
Step 3: Open Your Company Snapshot
After searching, your FMCSA Company Snapshot page will appear.
Step 4: Select the MCS-150 Form
On your Company Snapshot page, locate and click MCS-150.
Step 5: Choose to Update Your Registration
Select the option below and continue:
I need to update my USDOT number registration information (MCS-150)
Step 6: File the Update Electronically
Select File Electronically to begin the update process. You will need your USDOT PIN to continue.
Step 7: Update Your Phone Number
On the MCS-150 form, update your company details and enter your new phone number. Be sure to save and submit your changes.
Important Notes
Before submitting your update, keep the following in mind:
- All phone number updates must be submitted directly through FMCSA.
- Super Dispatch cannot edit or submit MCS-150 forms on your behalf.
- Changes may take time to reflect across FMCSA systems.
