Introduction
Shipper TMS gives you greater control over how you receive notifications—whether it's by email, text message (SMS), or push notification. Recent updates make it easier than ever to customize your alert preferences by role, notification type, and communication method. This guide walks you through how to manage these settings in your account.
Types of Notifications
- Personal Notifications – Notification Alerts related to orders specifically assigned to you.
- Company Notifications – Notifications about all orders within your company’s Shipper TMS account.
- Additional Recipients – Allows you to include team members who should receive specific order updates.
How to Manage Your Notification Settings
Step 1: Access the Notification Center
- Log into your Shipper TMS account.
- From the left-hand navigation menu, go to Settings Notifications.
Step 2: Review and Update Personal Notifications
These notifications apply only to orders assigned to you. Choose how you’d like to receive updates—via Email, Push Notification, or Text Message (where applicable).
Manage alerts for updates on orders assigned to you, including:
- Load offers
- Carrier requests and request cancellations
- Bookings
- Pickup and delivery status updates
- Modifications to orders
- Order cancellations (only if the load wasn’t auto-reposted)
- Customer invoices and BOLs
Note: These updates are always sent via email and push notifications. However, text messages for order cancellations will not be sent if the order was auto-reposted.
Note: If you're assigned as a dispatcher to an order, you can now receive text messages for new requests and canceled orders that aren't auto-reposted. Previously, only one phone number received text updates for new requests only.
Step 3: Review Company Notification Settings
These apply to your organization as a whole.
- Update the company-wide contact email by clicking Profile Page.
- Choose if the company email receives general order updates via Email.
Step 4: Add or Edit Additional Recipients
If you'd like others on your team to receive specific alerts, scroll to the Additional Recipients section and click + Add Recipient.
- Enter their email address.
- Select which types of alerts they should receive:
- Load Offers
- Requests and Bookings
- Pickup/Delivery and Modifications
- Billing
Who Can Make Changes?
Users with the appropriate permissions can update their email and phone number for notifications. If you don’t have permission to make changes, please contact your Shipper TMS admin.
Note: Previously, all updates to notification settings had to go through our support team. You can now make many of these changes directly from your account.
Why Customize Notifications?
- Stay in the loop — Make sure you never miss an important request or status update.
- Keep your team informed — Use additional recipients to ensure key departments (like dispatch or accounting) get the right alerts.
- Streamline communication — Text, email, and push options ensure you can respond faster no matter where you are.
