Introduction
When a driver's free trial ends in the Driver App, they must subscribe to a paid plan in order to create or import loads. The Subscribe Now modal appears to let them know they need a valid subscription to continue.
This article explains when and how this modal appears, how it behaves based on fleet mode settings, and what actions Support can take to assist.
When Does the Modal Appear?
Drivers will see the Subscribe Now modal if they attempt to:
- Manually create a load
- Import a load from Central Dispatch
…and their free trial has ended, meaning they are no longer subscribed to a paid plan.
If Fleet Mode Is OFF (Owner-Operator)
This applies to single-driver accounts or carriers not using fleet mode.
What the Driver Sees
- A Subscribe Now modal appears letting the driver know they no longer have access to create/import loads.
- They are given two options:

Subscribe Now
Opens a web view of Carrier TMS where the driver can complete their subscription purchase. -
Dismiss
Closes the modal and automatically triggers an email to the carrier’s dispatcher letting them know a subscription is needed.
Note: Only one email is sent to the dispatcher, regardless of how many drivers trigger the modal. This prevents notification spam.

If Fleet Mode Is ON (Multi-Driver Carriers)
This applies to carriers managing multiple drivers through Carrier TMS with fleet mode enabled.
What the Driver Sees
- The modal informs them they cannot create or import loads and must contact their dispatcher to get access.
- They will only see a Got It button, which closes the modal.
This also triggers a single email to the carrier’s dispatcher, letting them know a driver attempted to use restricted functionality.

Additional Info
- Once a dispatcher purchases a subscription, blocked functionality becomes available again to all drivers.
- Carriers cannot purchase fewer seats than the number of active drivers in their fleet.
- This experience is powered by a feature toggle and is being rolled out gradually.
