Introduction
Bulk Order Creation in Shipper TMS lets you create multiple orders at once using one shared set of details. You’ll choose how many orders you want to create and how many vehicles should be included in each order, then create everything in one action.
This is especially helpful if you:
- Regularly duplicate orders to move groups of vehicles
- Know how many vehicles need to move, but don’t have VINs or full vehicle details yet
- Create large moves (example: rental car agencies) and want to reduce setup time
This article explains how to create and manage bulk batches, plus what happens when you send bulk offers or bulk post orders.
Create a New Bulk Batch
Bulk batches can be created in two places. Both options create the same result — a bulk batch where you can configure shared order details and generate multiple independent orders.
Option 1: Create a Bulk Batch from the Orders Screen
Use this option if you’re already working on your regular order workflow and want to switch into bulk creation.
- Open Orders in Shipper TMS.
- Go to All Orders (or your preferred Orders view).
- Click Create Order.
- In the create menu, select Bulk Orders.
- Continue to configure your bulk batch details (covered below).
Option 2: Create a Bulk Batch from the Bulk Batches Page
Use this option if you manage bulk work regularly and want to jump straight into bulk batch creation.
- Open Bulk Batches from the left navigation.
- Click Create Bulk Batch.
- Continue to configure your bulk batch details (covered below).
Configure the Bulk Batch
After you start a bulk batch, you’ll set shared information once, then tell Shipper TMS how many orders to create and how many vehicles to include per order. The system creates standard independent orders, and you can add vehicle details later as needed.
Step 1: Enter Shared Order Details
Use the bulk batch settings to enter details that should apply across all orders you’re creating.
- Pickup and delivery details
- Contact information
- Notes and instructions
- Pricing and payment details (if applicable)
Step 2: Choose How Many Orders to Create
Next, choose:
- Number of orders to create
- Vehicles per order
This is the core time-saver — you don’t need to duplicate the same order repeatedly just to create volume.
Step 3: Create Orders
When you’re ready, create the orders in one action. Shipper TMS generates all orders as independent orders that can be managed normally.
Access and Manage Bulk Batches
After a bulk batch is created, you can return to it any time to review progress, open created orders, send offers, or post orders in bulk.
Step 1: Open Bulk Batches
Use the Bulk Batches page to find your batch and check its status.
- Search by batch name or identifier
- Review status (example: Draft, Creating Orders, Orders Created, Posting, Posted)
- Open the batch to view its details and the generated orders
Step 2: Review the Batch Details and Order List
Inside a bulk batch, you can review the shared settings and see the list of generated orders.
Duplicate a Bulk Batch
If you run the same type of move often, duplicating a bulk batch lets you reuse the shared settings instead of starting from scratch.
How to Duplicate
From the Bulk Batches page, you can duplicate an existing batch and then update details as needed before creating the new set of orders.
Next Steps
After creating your bulk orders, you can add vehicle details (VINs, year/make/model) on each order as they become available, then continue managing those orders like any other move in Shipper TMS.
