Rating shippers in Carrier TMS helps create transparency and accountability across the platform. Your feedback helps other carriers make informed decisions and helps shippers improve their service.
How to Rate a Shipper in Carrier TMS
Follow the steps below to submit a rating for a shipper you’ve worked with.
Step 1: Open the Shipper Profile
Ratings are submitted directly from the shipper’s profile.
- In Carrier TMS, locate the Shipper Name within the Shipper / Customer section of a completed load.
- Click the shipper name to open their profile.
Step 2: Select “Rate Shipper”
Once you’re on the shipper’s profile, you’ll see the option to submit a rating.
- Click Rate Shipper.
Step 3: Choose Your Rating
Select whether your experience was positive or negative.
- Select your rating.
- Choose one or more reasons that apply.
- Optionally, add a comment (up to 280 characters).
Step 4: Submit Your Rating
Submit your rating to complete the process.
- Positive ratings are published immediately.
- Negative ratings enter a 10-day pending period before becoming publicly visible.
Step 5: View Your Rating
After submission, your rating appears on the shipper’s profile.
- Displayed in the top-right rating summary
- Visible under the Ratings tab
Step 6: Edit or Delete a Rating
You can update or remove your rating if needed.
- Click the Edit icon in the rating section.
Who Can Rate Shippers?
Rating permissions depend on your account type and signup date.
- Owner-Operators: Can rate shippers from Carrier TMS and the Driver App (if the driver account is active).
- Fleet Dispatchers: Can rate shippers from Carrier TMS.
How Are Rating Percentages Calculated?
Shipper ratings are calculated based on completed ratings.
- Positive ratings count as 1 point
- Negative ratings count as 0 points
Formula:
(Number of Positive Ratings ÷ Total Ratings) = Overall Rating Percentage
