Introduction
In Shipper TMS, assigning dispatchers and salespeople to orders helps you and your team stay organized, ensures that notifications reach the right individuals, and enables you to filter and analyze order data in reports. This guide will explain what it means to assign a dispatcher or salesperson, how to set these roles, and the benefits of using these features.
What is ‘Assign Dispatcher’?
The Assign Dispatcher feature allows you to designate a specific person to oversee the order process for a shipment. When a dispatcher is assigned, they will be the primary point of contact for managing the order, receiving updates, and ensuring that it’s successfully completed. Assigning a dispatcher is beneficial because it streamlines communication, keeping all necessary information accessible to the person responsible for managing the load.
Benefits of Assigning a Dispatcher
-
Notifications: Assigned dispatchers will receive email and push notifications (unless turned off in their Personal Notification settings).
-
Reports: The assigned dispatcher appears in Reports, allowing you to track performance and order completion metrics easily.
-
Filtering: Orders can be filtered by the assigned dispatcher, making it simple to review and manage orders by individual.
Note: The Assigned Dispatcher feature isn’t tied to specific job roles; anyone in the company can be assigned as a dispatcher, whether they’re a designated dispatcher, accountant, or another team member.
