Introduction
Once your shipper account is onboarded, SuperPay is available as a payment method in Shipper TMS. SuperPay lets you pay carriers by ACH right inside Super Dispatch. This article explains how a SuperPay load works from the shipper's side, from adding SuperPay to an order to releasing a payment that's on hold.
How to Add SuperPay to an Order
- When you create an order, set the Payment Method in the Carrier Payment section to SuperPay.
- Choose the Terms: 1–3, 5, 10, 15, or 20 Business Days.
- Save the order. A SuperPay icon appears next to the carrier price.
How Funds Move With SuperPay
SuperPay follows the order's lifecycle and responds to the delivery events the carrier submits in Super Dispatch:
- Pay-in: Funds are collected from the shipper's payment source (your bank account) into a SuperPay wallet.
- Payout: Funds are sent from the wallet to the carrier's bank account.
1–3 Business Day Terms
With short terms, SuperPay starts right after delivery.
| Event | What Happens |
|---|---|
| Delivered | The carrier marks the order as delivered. |
| SuperPay Charge Initiated | Your bank account is debited for the carrier price. |
| SuperPay Charged | The debit completes, usually within 1–2 business days. |
5, 10, 15, or 20 Business Day Terms
With longer terms, SuperPay schedules the debit and deposit ahead of time.
| Field | What It Means |
|---|---|
| Charge Scheduled | The date your bank account will be debited. |
| Deposit Expected | The date the carrier is expected to receive the funds. |
After delivery, the payment either goes through as scheduled or is put on hold if an issue is found.
The Arbitration Window
The arbitration window is the two business days after delivery. During this time, you can put a payment on hold, even if the SuperPay process has already started, to resolve delivery or document issues. Once a payment is on hold, you have to release it manually.
How to Release a Payment That's On Hold
Step 1: Click SuperPay Now
- Open Payment on Hold in the left-hand menu, or open the order.
- Click SuperPay Now on the order. You can also select several orders and click SuperPay Now at the top of the list.
Step 2: Confirm the Payment
- Review the charge amount, the Charge Scheduled date, and the Deposit Expected date, then click SuperPay Now to release the payment.
