Introduction
The Driver Pay Report in Carrier TMS lets dispatchers and accountants see payroll details for company drivers in one place. For any time period you choose, it shows each driver's pay rate, revenue, and the driver fee you owe them.
How to Open the Driver Pay Report
Step 1: Open the Reports Menu
- Log in to Carrier TMS.
- Click Reports in the left-hand navigation.
Step 2: Select Driver Pay Report
- Select Driver Pay Report from the list of reports.
Understanding the Driver Pay Report
The report shows these columns for each driver:
Name
The driver's name.
Pay Rate
The driver's pay rate as a percentage. You can edit it right in the report, and changes save automatically.
Revenue
The total revenue from the driver's completed deliveries in the selected period, minus broker fees.
Example: A driver delivers 5 orders at $200 each, and 2 of those orders have a $40 broker fee. Revenue = (5 × $200) − (2 × $40) = $920
Driver Fee
The total amount owed to the driver, based on their pay rate and revenue.
Example: A driver has a 30% pay rate and $1,000 in revenue. Driver Fee = ($1,000 ÷ 100) × 30 = $300
How Delivery Dates Affect the Report
The report period is based on the date the load was actually marked as delivered, not the delivery date field on the load. If a shipper changes the delivery date later, the change won't affect the Driver Pay Report.
Adjusting the Report View
- Choose Period: Click the calendar icon and select a start and end date to see pay for a specific period.
- Drivers: Filter which drivers appear. By default, the report shows both active and deactivated drivers.
- Pay Rate: Update an individual driver's pay rate directly in the table.
How to Deduct Expenses From Driver Pay
You can deduct expenses, such as fuel taxes, pulling fees, or storage fees, from a driver's pay so drivers aren't paid on amounts that cover operating costs.
Step 1: Open the Load
- Click any load to open its details.
Step 2: Add the Expense
- In the Expenses section, click + Add.
- Enter the expense Type, Cost, and Date. You can also attach a Receipt File (less than 20 MB).
- Check Show on Invoice if the expense should appear on the customer invoice.
- Check Deduct from Driver Pay to subtract the expense from the driver's earnings.
