How Does Super Dispatch Use my Location?

Updated

Introduction

Location sharing in Super Dispatch helps keep loads moving smoothly by improving visibility, accuracy, and trust between drivers, carriers, and shippers.

This article explains what it means to share your location, who can see it and when, why it's beneficial, and how to manage location access on your mobile device.

Note: Location sharing is now managed through your device settings only. The in-app location toggle has been removed. How and when your location is shared with dispatchers and shippers remains the same.

Why Sharing Location Helps Everyone

When location sharing is enabled, Super Dispatch can provide real-time insights that reduce manual check-ins, prevent disputes, and improve delivery accuracy.

Benefit Why It Matters
Fewer check-in calls Shippers and dispatchers can track progress without calling drivers.
More accurate ETAs Live location data improves arrival estimates and planning.
Dispute prevention Inspection photos are geotagged to confirm pickup and delivery locations.
Increased trust Transparency helps build confidence and repeat business.

Who Can See My Location — and When?

Location sharing is limited to active loads and is only visible inside the Super Dispatch platform.

Role When Location Is Visible
Dispatchers When you are assigned to an active load in Carrier TMS
Shippers Once the load status is marked as Picked Up
Note: Your location is never shared outside of Super Dispatch, and you can turn off Location Services in your device settings when you are not using the app.

What Shippers See When Tracking Is Enabled

When location sharing is active, shippers gain access to high-level tracking data designed to improve visibility without exposing exact real-time movement.

  • ETA — Calculated using current traffic and route conditions
  • Time Remaining — Estimated time until delivery
  • Last GPS Update — Timestamp of the most recent location ping
  • Approximate Location — General area (e.g., "near Omaha, NE"), with a link to Google Maps

How to Enable Location Services on Your Device

Location sharing is managed through your phone's system settings. Follow the steps below based on your device.
