Send a Counter Bid on Counter Offers

    Introduction

    In Carrier TMS, carriers can send a counter bid on a shipper's Counter Offer. When you bid on a load and the shipper responds with a different price, you can reply with a new price instead of only accepting or declining. This gives both sides more room to agree on a fair rate.

    How to Send a Counter Bid

    You can only send a counter bid if the shipper has sent a Counter Offer in response to your original bid.

    Step 1: Locate the Load Offer with a Counter Offer

    • Navigate to the Load Board and go to the Requested tab to find loads where a shipper has sent a Counter Offer.

    • Open the load offer to view the details.

    Step 2: Click the Counter Bid Button

    • If the load has an active Counter Offer, you'll see a Counter Bid button on the offer page. Click it.

    Step 3: Review the Load Details

    • A new tab opens with the load details on the Super Loadboard.
    • Review the pickup and delivery information, vehicles, payment terms, and shipper requirements before you bid.

    Step 4: Submit Your Counter Bid

    • In the Request with Updated Bid section, enter your new counter bid amount based on the shipper's Counter Offer.
    • Click Request to send your counter bid.

    Step 5: Track Your Bid Status

    • Once submitted, the original offer is declined, and your counter bid appears under the Requested tab on the Load Board.
    • If the shipper accepts, a new load offer is sent to you to accept.
    • If the shipper declines, you may be able to submit another bid depending on their response.

    What Happens on the Shipper's Side?

    • The shipper receives your counter bid with a new status tag showing it's a counter bid.
    • The shipper can view their previous Counter Offer alongside your counter bid before deciding to accept or decline.

    Important Notes

    • Counter bids are only available in Carrier TMS. They aren't supported in the Driver App yet.
    • You can only counter a shipper's Counter Offer. You can't counter your own previous bid.
    • If the shipper declines your counter bid, the load stays available for other carriers to bid on.
