Introduction
The Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) feature in the Super Dispatch Driver App helps drivers, dispatchers, and shippers stay aligned on when vehicles will be picked up and delivered. Accurate ETAs improve communication, reduce delays, and minimize follow-up calls. This guide explains how to provide, update, and manage both Pickup and Delivery ETAs directly inside the Driver App.
How ETAs Work
ETAs are built into the main driver workflow and appear directly on each load card, so drivers can quickly see whether an ETA is missing, upcoming, or overdue. The Driver App prompts for ETAs at key stages in the delivery process:
- Pickup ETA: Requested when a new load is assigned.
- Delivery ETA: Requested after a load is marked as Picked Up.
Drivers can update ETAs at any time from the Load Details screen if their schedule changes.
How to Add or Update ETAs
Follow these steps to provide or edit ETAs in the Driver App:
Step 1: Provide Pickup ETA When a Load Is Assigned
- When a new load is assigned, the app prompts you to Provide Pickup ETA.
- The Provide ETA label appears directly on the load card to indicate which loads still need an ETA.
- Select a suggested time window or tap Other to enter a custom time.
- If you expect to arrive later than planned, you’ll be asked to specify a reason before submitting.
Step 2: Provide Delivery ETA After Pickup
- After marking the load as Picked Up, the app prompts you to provide a Delivery ETA.
- Drivers can also provide the Delivery ETA immediately after pickup, or later if preferred.
- Choose a time window or enter a custom delivery time, then tap Submit.
Step 3: Edit or Update an ETA
- From the Loads screen, open the load you want to update.
- Locate your current ETA in the Load Details section (under Driver Instructions).
- Tap the clock icon to edit the ETA.
- Select a new time and tap Submit to confirm your update.
ETA Prompts and Notifications
The Driver App automatically sends notifications to remind drivers to set, confirm, or update ETAs at key moments. These prompts ensure every ETA remains current and visible to the shipper.
- Request: When a new load is assigned, a notification asks when you plan to pick up the vehicle.
- Confirmation: On the pickup day, you’ll get a reminder to confirm or update your ETA.
- Overdue: If the pickup or delivery time passes without an update, the app reminds you to adjust your ETA.
Delivery ETA Flow
Once a vehicle is picked up, the app prompts for a Delivery ETA. Drivers can select a suggested time window, enter a custom one, or note a delay with a reason before submitting. Delivery ETAs are visible directly on the load card and help shippers anticipate arrival at the final destination or terminal.
Terminals and Multi-Driver Transfers
For loads involving terminals or multiple drivers, each driver in the chain provides their own ETA:
- First Driver: Adds a Pickup ETA when collecting the vehicle and marks it as Delivered to Terminal.
- Next Driver: Adds a Delivery ETA when picking up from the terminal and marks it as Arrived at Destination when delivered.
Reminders and Best Practices
- Review your schedule before submitting an ETA to ensure accuracy.
- Update your ETA right away if delays occur due to weather, traffic, or other issues.
- Check your load list often — missing or overdue ETAs will always appear clearly on the load card.
