Introduction
Video Inspections let drivers record a short video, up to one minute long, during a pickup or delivery inspection in the Driver App. Video gives a clearer record of the vehicle's condition than photos alone. This article explains how to record a video inspection and how to review inspection media.
How to Record a Video Inspection
Step 1: Start the Inspection
- Open the load and tap Start Pickup Inspection or Start Delivery Inspection.
Step 2: Switch to Video Mode
- Tap the video camera icon on the left side of the camera screen to switch from photo mode to video mode.
- A red record button appears.
Step 3: Record the Video
- Tap the red record button to start. A one-minute timer counts down, and recording stops on its own when time runs out.
- While recording, tap the white camera button to take still photos, or tap pause to pause and resume.
Step 4: Review the Video
- Tap the video thumbnail on the right to open it.
- Tap Play to watch it, Retake to record it again, or Delete to remove it.
- Tap Done when you're finished.
Vehicle Inspection Features
Photo and Video Viewer
The Photos & Videos section shows all of a vehicle's inspection media in one place. Swipe left or right to review it, and tap a photo to open it in a full gallery. If a required photo is missing, you'll see a reminder.
Damages
The Damages section shows a diagram of the vehicle marking where each damage photo was taken. It's blank if no damage was recorded. Tap Mark Damage to add damage at any time. Damage captured during AIAG inspections also appears here.
Additional Inspection
Details captured during pickup or delivery, such as the odometer reading, notes, and condition checks, are stored together in the Additional Inspection section for quick review.
Switch Between Pickup and Delivery
Tap Pickup Inspection or Delivery Inspection at the top of the screen to switch between them. This makes it easy to compare the vehicle's condition or show customers before-and-after photos.
Where to Watch Inspection Videos
- Online BOL: Click the video icon on the online Bill of Lading (BOL) to play the video.
- Carrier TMS: Dispatchers can watch uploaded videos on each load.
- Driver App: Tap the video thumbnail in the Photos & Videos section on the load or vehicle details.
If a video is still uploading, you'll see a syncing message. It becomes available once the upload finishes.
Device Storage Warnings
If your phone's storage is full or nearly full, you can't take photos or videos. You'll see a Storage Almost Full warning. Free up space by deleting apps or files you don't need, then try again.
